Start with the idea and references you have, plus the dates you expect to be in Cairo. A request reserves nothing — we review it and contact you to establish whether the piece is ready to book directly or still needs creative direction first.
ONLINE CONSULTATION BEFORE CAIRO
If the piece is custom or the idea still needs clarification, the online consultation is where references, placement, priorities, the brief, and the creative direction are worked through with your assigned artist — before you arrive in Egypt.
Work through the idea before your time in Cairo becomes the constraint.
Share the idea, references, placement, approximate scale, and your travel dates. You do not need every detail resolved, and the request itself reserves nothing.
The studio reviews the idea, your timing, and potential artist fit, then contacts you to establish whether this is a direct booking or a case that needs consultation and design development first.
Where consultation is needed, an artist is assigned and you meet online to work through direction, references, placement, and priorities before the trip.
Once the brief and sketch direction are agreed, your artist develops the first design draft for you to review.
With the first draft and direction agreed, the deposit moves the project into final design execution and your session date is confirmed with you. Because design, planning, and consultation time has already been invested by that point, the deposit is non-refundable under the published policy — and it is deducted in full from your final price, so no work is paid for twice.

A cultural reference can begin with a symbol, a period, a story, or a place — and the finished direction should still feel specific to you. These symbols, this culture, this civilization are drawn on as inspiration and idea, understood and appreciated, never copied the way a souvenir motif would be. Many clients arrive with no Egyptian reference at all, and the work below shows both.

TRAVEL TIMING
Realistic planning depends on the piece, the artist, the size, and your travel window — not simply an empty day in the itinerary.
Some projects may fit a single session after review. Share the placement, approximate scale, and the dates you can make available.
Larger areas and multi-part projects may need different planning, or more than one session. We would rather tell you that early than compress the work into your trip.
Swimming, strong sun, flights, and the shape of the rest of your itinerary are worth raising before the appointment so the session is timed sensibly.

MORSE INK works from a permanent studio at 5 Al Maqrizi Street, Zamalek, Cairo, with Cairo residents, expats, and travellers. Zamalek sits on Gezira Island in central Cairo, so the studio is straightforward to reach from most central districts.

DEPOSIT AND RESCHEDULING
Nothing is reserved by the request itself. Commitment comes after the direction is agreed, and the terms are the same whether you live in Cairo or are flying in.
A booking is confirmed only once a deposit of 20–30% of the agreed investment is received. The deposit is deducted in full from your final price.
Design, planning, or consultation time is invested in your piece before the deposit is collected, so from that point the deposit reflects that work and is not refundable — this includes cancellations and no-shows.
A confirmed session can be rescheduled once, with at least one to three days’ notice, and the deposit carries forward. A second reschedule needs the studio’s approval or a new deposit.
AFTERCARE WHILE YOU TRAVEL
Your artist explains aftercare in person and gives you written guidance for your placement and the work carried out. Follow that guidance first — the outline below is here so you can plan the rest of your trip around it.
Where appropriate, a second-skin tattoo bandage is applied after the session. While it stays properly in place it acts as a physical barrier from everyday contact, clothing, and dust — which means less day-to-day handling while you travel.
Once the instructed wear period is over, you begin gentle cleaning and moisturiser exactly as your artist explains it, and that routine continues for roughly twelve further days through the next stage of healing.

MORSE INK stays available for aftercare follow-up through the first fifteen days after your tattoo, including after onward travel or once you are home. That fifteen-day figure is how long the studio stays available to you — not a point at which care stops; your own routine can continue beyond it.
